Web100GB isn't ludicrously large when it comes to video. It sounds like you need to adjust your optimized/cache files to be a lower quality codec. Might I recommend half resolution DNxHR LB as your optimized codec. It will look fine while editing, run fantastic on any hardware, and take up much less space. Not sure what you have it set to now.
